MAPLE OATMEAL COOKIES
These Maple Oatmeal Cookies are topped with a delicious maple frosting. They are a great twist on a classic and the maple flavoring and frosting takes these cookies up a level. We love maple anything and these are especially good in the Fall of the year. Great addition to any dessert table or for any gathering.
Brown sugar
White granulated sugar
Eggs
Maple extract
Maple syrup
All-purpose flour
Baking soda
Ground cinnamon
Ginger
Salt
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons maple extract
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups old-fashioned oats uncooked
Maple Frosting Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 cup butter or 4 tablespoons
- 1 teaspoon maple extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, this will take 2-3 minutes.
- Next, add eggs, maple extract and maple syrup and mix until combined. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Add in oats and mix them all together. Drop dough onto cookie sheets.
- Dough will spread out so keep cookies 2-3 inches apart. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 3 dozen depending on size you make them. Once cooled add maple frosting below.
Frosting Instructions
- Bring sugar, milk and butter to a boil in a saucepan on top of the stove. Boil for 1 minute stirring constantly. Remove and add maple extract and powdered sugar. Stir. Frost or drizzle over cookies.
