In order to make this delicious recipe, you’ll need to make sure you have the following ingredients on hand.
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 1/2 cups beef stock
- 1 package sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp xanthan gum
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 2 packages shiritaki fettuccine noodles (or other noodle substitute of choice)
After you have all of these ingredients, you’re ready to start cooking!
HOW TO MAKE BEEF STROGANOFF
- Using a 10″ cast iron skillet or another large skillet, brown beef over medium heat, using a meat chopper to break the beef into smaller chunks
- Remove browned beef from the skillet with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels; leave all extra beef fat in the skillet
- Add and saute the mushrooms, minced garlic, and minced onion to the skillet
- Combine the beef broth, heavy cream, salt, and pepper
- Sprinkle the xanthan gum into the mixture while stirring
- Simmer for 5 – 10 minutes, or until sauce reaches desired level of thickness
- Remove from heat and serve over shirataki fettuccine noodles
