French Onion Pork Chops

Ingredients
- 6 boneless, lean pork chops (about 4 oz each)
- 1 packet reduced-sodium French onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) 98% fat-free cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup fat-free beef broth
- ½ cup reduced-fat Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly spray a large skillet with cooking spray. Sauté the sliced onion for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Season the pork chops with garlic powder and black pepper. Brown them in the skillet for about 2 minutes per side.
- In a bowl, whisk together the French onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, and beef broth.
- Place the pork chops in a baking dish and pour the soup mixture over them.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pork reaches 145°F (63°C) internally.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with the reduced-fat Swiss cheese, and bake for another 3–5 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
