Greek Ham and Cheese Pie(Zambonopita)

The word Zambonopita is kind of a mouthful, but the pie itself is definitely a delicious mouthful. It’s a simple Greek Ham and Cheese Pie that comes together in one bowl and is packed with protein as well as a ton of savory flavor. It’s the kind of quick bake that works well for breakfast or brunch, but is also perfect as an on-the-go snack or a simple lunch. It’s versatile, it’s tasty, and it’s so easy to make!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup cottage cheese or plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 5 oz crumbled feta
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 cup sliced deli ham, chopped

PREPARATION
- Preheat oven to 350°F and brush a 8×11-inch baking pan with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, cottage cheese or yogurt, and milk.
- Add the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg and whisk to combine.
- Fold in feta, mozzarella, and ham, then transfer to prepared baking dish and smooth out with a rubber spatula. Drizzle with remaining melted butter.
- Bake until top is golden brown, about 45 minutes.
- Let cool 10 minutes, then slice, serve, and enjoy!
- If not serving immediately, store slices on a wire rack to prevent sogginess.
