Old-Fashioned Hamburger Steak Potato Bake

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the sliced onions, then the browned beef.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes and onions.
  5. In a bowl, mix the beef broth with the onion soup mix, then pour it over the layered ingredients.
  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
